The Loire Valley is France’s château country — a UNESCO World Heritage landscape of Renaissance palaces, formal gardens, and gentle river valleys. Further south, the Auvergne offers something completely different: a volcanic landscape of dormant craters, vast green plateaux, and medieval hilltop villages. Together, these regions cover a wide range of visual possibilities, from refined aristocratic settings to untamed natural environments.
We provide fixer and production services across the region.
Loire Valley:
Château de Chambord — the largest and most iconic of the Loire châteaux. Château de Chenonceau — spanning the River Cher, one of the most photographed monuments in France. Château de Villandry and its elaborate formal gardens. The city of Tours — a cultured, compact base for Loire Valley shoots. Amboise and the Château du Clos Lucé (Leonardo da Vinci’s final residence). The vineyards of Vouvray, Chinon, and Sancerre. The troglodyte caves and villages carved into limestone cliffs.
Auvergne & Central France:
The Chaîne des Puys — a chain of dormant volcanoes, UNESCO World Heritage site. The Puy de Dôme — the region’s most recognizable peak. Clermont-Ferrand — a city built from black volcanic stone. The Gorges du Tarn — a spectacular river canyon. The medieval village of Salers and the Cantal mountains.
Logistics:
Paris to Tours is 1h15 by TGV. Paris to Clermont-Ferrand is 3h30 by car or train. The region is well-connected by road but more rural than coastal areas — we coordinate transport, accommodation, and crew sourcing locally.
Permits:
Château visits and filming access are negotiated directly with property owners or the Centre des Monuments Nationaux. Public space permits are handled at the municipal level. National park authorizations (Volcans d’Auvergne) are managed on your behalf.
