Normandy and Brittany are among France’s most visually striking regions. With rugged Atlantic coastlines, vast sandy beaches, medieval architecture, and an ever-changing sky, they offer landscapes that work for historical dramas, documentaries, branded content, and contemporary stories alike.
We provide full fixer and production services across both regions, from initial scouting to wrap — including permits, local crew, transport, and logistics.
Normandy highlights:
The D-Day beaches (Omaha, Utah, Juno, Sword, Gold) remain among the most powerful filming locations in Europe — essential for any production dealing with World War II history. The American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, Pointe du Hoc, and the Caen Memorial offer solemn, cinematic backdrops. Beyond the war sites, Normandy offers the Pays d’Auge with its half-timbered villages and apple orchards, the harbour town of Honfleur, the chalk cliffs of Étretat, the historic city of Rouen (where Joan of Arc was executed), and the abbey of Mont Saint-Michel — one of the most recognizable landmarks in France. Normandy’s proximity to Paris (under 2 hours by car or train) makes it a practical option for productions based in the capital that need coastal or rural footage.
Brittany highlights:
Brittany’s wild coastline stretches over 2,700 kilometres — the longest of any French region. The Pink Granite Coast, the Gulf of Morbihan, the fortified city of Saint-Malo, the medieval town of Dinan, and the standing stones of Carnac offer diverse visual possibilities. The region has a distinct Celtic identity, visible in its architecture, festivals, and landscapes. For productions seeking an Atlantic, windswept aesthetic — think Ireland or Scotland, but in France — Brittany delivers.
Logistics:
Paris to Rouen is 1h30 by car. Paris to Caen is 2h30. Paris to Rennes is 1h30 by TGV. We coordinate transport, accommodation, and crew sourcing across both regions, with trusted local contacts in Caen, Rouen, Rennes, Saint-Malo, and Brest.
Permits:
Filming permits in Normandy and Brittany are handled at the municipal level, with additional authorization required for protected sites (Mont Saint-Michel, D-Day memorial sites, classified monuments). We manage all applications and follow-ups on your behalf.
