Production service on the Riviera

Cannes is our second base. From here we run commercials, brand films and TV units between Saint-Tropez and the Italian border, Monaco included. Yachts, villas, the Corniches, the Croisette: the region where many luxury, automotive and fashion campaigns in France end up.

Base 2

FixersInParis is a production service company working across France from two bases: Paris and Cannes. The Cannes base exists because the Côte d'Azur is where brands come to shoot cars, jewellery, swimwear, fashion and lifestyle, and because those shoots need someone local who knows which of the many desks owns each metre of coast.

Zacharie runs the Riviera unit: crew, kit, vehicles, boats, accommodation and the set. Élie structures and files the permits from Paris and steps in on access. You get one French partner who carries the budget, the crew contracts and the schedule, whether you are in Nice for one day or moving between Cannes, Antibes and Monaco for a week.

Why a coastal shot costs more here than anywhere else in France

The Riviera is the most administratively fragmented region in France. One car arriving at a villa can involve the commune for the street, the département for the road, the coastal authorities for the beach in frame, the forestry office for the hills behind it and civil aviation for the drone above it. None of these desks talk to each other. Filed one after another, that takes two months. Filed in parallel, with documents prepared once, the same shoot can clear in about three weeks. The full who-issues-what table is on our Provence and Riviera permits page.

Sixteen communes, half the cost. In 2026, for a client under NDA, a coastal travelling sequence crossed sixteen communes, with drone and heritage clearance at two stops. Restructuring the permits under a single entity by power of attorney, and filing the overlapping requirements together, took the permit cost from €29,900 to €12,900. Same shoot, same clearances.

The Riviera calendar

Seasonal notes
MayThe Cannes Film Festival, usually mid-May. Hotels, crew, vehicles and boats across the whole coast are booked out. Zacharie is on the Croisette every May. Book in winter or shoot another month. The Monaco Grand Prix is usually around the same time.
JuneCannes Lions, usually in June. The advertising industry on one seafront for a week: agency shoots, panels, brand activations. Fire-risk season starts in the massifs.
July and AugustPeak tourist season. Beaches full, traffic slow, accommodation expensive. Forest locations in the Esterel and Maures can close at short notice for fire risk.
SeptemberLight still summer, crowds thinning. The Monaco Yacht Show, usually in September, brings the big boats in. A strong month for campaigns.
October to AprilUsually the easiest period administratively and the cheapest for crew and accommodation. Villas easier to book.

Crew and logistics

Hired on the coast

We hire Riviera crew on the Riviera: camera, grip, electrics, drivers, boat contacts and production assistants who live between Marseille and Menton. It saves travel and per diems and they know the local desks. Kit comes from rental houses in the south or from Paris depending on the package (see kit and gear). For a production moving between Paris and the coast, Zacharie travels with the unit so the same person runs both legs. For scouting villas, roads and coves, see location scouting.

Shooting further inland, in Marseille or the Luberon? The same base covers Provence. Shooting in France beyond the south? See fixer in France.

Is there a production company in Cannes for foreign shoots?

Yes. FixersInParis has a base in Cannes and runs production services for foreign commercials, brand films and TV units on the French Riviera and in Monaco: permits, crew, locations, vehicles, boats, accommodation and on-set management. Our main office is in Paris; we work anywhere in France.

How long do filming permits take on the French Riviera?

Indicatively 3 to 8 weeks, confirmed per project. A simple street shot in one commune is at the short end. A coastal sequence involving roads, beaches, forest and a drone sits at the long end unless the applications are filed in parallel. We give you the realistic date for your locations before you lock the schedule.

Can we shoot on the Riviera during the Cannes Film Festival?

Yes, but plan for the crunch. In May hotels, crew, vehicles and boats across the whole coast are booked out, and prices follow. If the festival is your subject, book in winter. If it is not, shoot before or after. We ran the Adidas × Edison Chen campaign during the festival and the Monaco Grand Prix.

Do you also cover Monaco and Nice?

Yes. Nice, Antibes, Saint-Tropez, Menton and the Corniches are covered from Cannes. Monaco is a sovereign state with its own authorisation process, handled by the Principality's own authorities rather than French ones. We combine Monaco days with Riviera crew from Cannes.

Can we film on a yacht?

Shooting aboard a private yacht is arranged with the owner or charter company and the marina. Filming at sea close to the coast, or a beach landing, brings in the commune and the maritime authorities. A drone over the boat is a separate aviation clearance. We put the three together into one plan.
